About Lila in the Sky

 

Lila in the Sky began after the birth of my daughter, Lila. Becoming her mother opened something in me. I found myself drawing more, writing more, painting more, and making things with my hands. I named the brand for her, but it has grown alongside me.

Today, each piece of jewelry begins with an idea, a drawing, or a word I want to hold close. I’m drawn to symbols from nature, mythology, and the sky: the moon, a butterfly, an ancient talisman. I’m equally drawn to simple words that can change how we move through a day.

I turn these drawings and words into jewelry you can wear as a personal reminder. A reminder that you can begin again. That you can trust your own rhythm. That there is beauty in becoming who you are.

My paintings and other artwork come from that same place. Some stories want to live on a canvas; others become a small object you can take with you. I don’t want to choose between being a painter, a maker, and a storyteller. All of these are part of my work.

I grew up in Rio de Janeiro, collecting crystals, making art, and spending long summer days by the sea. I’ve lived and travelled in many places, and I now make my work in the South of France. Those places, and the people I’ve met along the way, have shaped the way I see the world: with curiosity, a love of symbols, and a belief that ordinary things can hold extraordinary meaning.

Lila in the Sky is a home for the things I create. Jewelry, paintings, drawings, and words may take different forms, but each begins with attention and intention.
